Last weekend, Kočevje turned into the capital of trail running and hosted many domestic and foreign lovers of running in nature. The authentic wilderness of the Kočevsko Outdoor Festival hosted by I Feel Slovenia took the competitors to the wild and mysterious forests of Kočevsko.
In addition to more than 1,000 runners from more than 20 countries, the festival program attracted about 2,000 visitors to Kočevsko, so that the final number of visitors was around 3,000.
Runners tackled wild trails on the Apres Outdoor Bambi Trail 5 km, Ford Fox Trail 10 km, Lynx Trail 15 km, Salomon Golden Trail National Series Wolf Trail 30 km and I Feel Slovenia Bear Trail 60 km. The future trail runners could take part in the Intersocks kids’ run of 400 m.
A large number of families stood out at this year’s event, which makes the organizers extremely happy, because they want to continue creating the event as a family-friendly festival. The youngest competitor was only 4 years old, who in the company of his father, grandmother and grandfather overcame the Apres Outdoor Bambi Trail 5 km distance.
On the other hand, the oldest competitor conquered the Salomon Wolf Trail 30 km distance at the age of 76. After crossing the finish line, all participants emphasized the immense enjoyment of the authentic wilderness and wild trails and confirmed that it is the wildest trail run far and wide with the most pristine nature.
